Apax was looking for a cloud solution to abandon a file-based (Excel) approach and streamline the entire portfolio management process to improve the efficiency, transparency, collaboration and visibility of portfolio company
Rolling out Preqin Solutions to 60+ portfolio companies with customized reports, migration of historical data, integration with Apax’s legacy GL and single sign-on with its intranet took five months. The project was delivered on time and within budget.
How Apax uses Preqin Solutions
On a monthly basis, portfolio companies log in to the system and update their financials, KPIs and commentary. GL investment information is also updated
automatically on a daily basis through the API.
Deal team members are notified and approve or reject the information provided by the companies, ensuring their involvement and ownership of the data. A
workflow module manages the entire process.
Once approved, information is used online by middle- and front-office users to drill down on metrics and graphs and, print company-specific and cross-portfolio reports, from the web or using BELL.
With over 50 Apax users logging in 6-7 times on average every month, the system has been widely adopted at Apax, saving time, increasing the
transparency and reliability of the data, and enhancing collaboration between portfolio companies, deal teams and the fund admin team.
